The Irish Society of Community and Public Health Medicine is a voluntary society of doctors. Through RCPI-accredited meetings, national clinical audits and advocacy, we create opportunities to learn, collaborate and improve services for the communities we serve.
What we do
Everything the Society does is led by volunteers working in community and public health medicine across Ireland.
RCPI-accredited meetings through the year: the Annual Scientific Meeting each autumn, regional branch days and themed events on immunisation, child development, doctors' wellbeing and technology in healthcare.

All advocacy1856
The Association of Metropolitan Medical Officers of Health is founded in London.
1859
Irish members are first admitted to the Association.
1919
A new constitution makes the Society the representative body for the Public Health Service in Ireland.
Today
A voluntary Council, elected each year, and five regional branches serve doctors across Ireland.
Munster and South Leinster are active, and the Western branch is being reactivated. If you work in another region, we would love you to help revive your local branch.
